Communicate with the whole crew simultaneously

The new Polycon Radio is designed by working together with professional Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, the people in the best position to know the demands of the job. Whether you deal in SAR, Air Ambulance, Humanitarian operations or commercial purposes, the benefits are clear.

The POLYCON System offers a wide range of benefits:

Allows external crewmember to overhear the aircraft intercom and access information. Thereby reducing the need to relay information between aircrew and suspended crew member. This also improves the external crew member’s situational awareness through monitoring the onboard communication, and allows the crewmember “to remain part of the crew” vital in complex rescue operations.

Provides secure, closed circuit communication between the aircrew and suspended
crewmember, as oposed to broadcasting on open channels, the method previously used.

Waterproof transceiver supports handsfree continous communication.

Dual band option - both UHF and VHF in same tranceiver cabinet.

Wireless handsfree intercom during flight.

Enhanced aircraft safety via positive clearances to the rear from external crew on
the ground.

TX off mode allows the pilot to cut the transmission from the helicopter to the
suspended crew member. The rescue crew member maintains the ability to call the airborne crew at all times.

SINGLE BAND
The "Standard" single-band version is the transceiver as it is today. 409 - 470 MHz, narrow-bandet semiduplex long range version, 10 - 20 km depending on the topography of the landscape.
Developed for general radio-communication with SAR as the traditional main field.

DUAL BAND
"Dual Band" is a expanded "Standard" version with integrated VHF frequencies. The radio may therefore operate as a closed SAR communication system, but with access to the official maritime or alternative communication systems. The user may choose which of the 16 channels to be protected and which channels can remain unprotected.

TRIPLE BAND
"Triple band" is a "Standard" radio which supports UHF, VHF and a UHF digital duplex short range system with an edited frequency system which is suited for communication from within the cockpit and a limited range surrounding the helicopter.
The system automatically switches between the digital and the standard system as the user moves to and from the helicopter. The digital system may also be used as a wireless PA together with a microformat transceiver mounted on a helmet or headset.
